CHICLE Interpreter Terms & Conditions

1. Scope of Interpreting Services

CHICLE provides professional interpreting services in multiple languages, including but not limited to consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, delivered in person or remotely (e.g., via Zoom or other platforms), as requested by the client.

2. Types of Interpreting

Consecutive Interpreting
The interpreter renders the message after the speaker pauses. This format is appropriate for medical appointments, meetings, interviews, and small-group interactions.

Simultaneous Interpreting
The interpreter renders the message in real time while the speaker continues speaking. This format is appropriate for conferences, lectures, large meetings, or virtual events and may require specialized equipment or multiple interpreters.

3. Interpreter Assignment & Quality

CHICLE assigns qualified interpreters based on language pair, subject matter, and availability. While CHICLE is committed to providing high-quality services, interpretation accuracy may be affected by factors such as speaker pace, clarity, overlapping speech, audio quality, or last-minute changes. Due to the nature of live interpretation, absolute accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information regarding

• Sharing agendas, presentations, or materials

• Ensuring appropriate for remote interpreting sessions

• Designating an on-site or technical contact person

 

CHICLE is not responsible for issues resulting from incomplete information, technical failures, or conditions outside its control.

5. Rates & Billing

• Consecutive interpreting: $60 per hour

• Simultaneous interpreting: $80 per hour

• Minimum billing: 1 hour

• Round-trip mileage is billed at the current NC state rate

 

Billing begins at the time the interpreter is scheduled to arrive (or connect for remote sessions), not at the actual start time of the event.

 

6. Multiple Interpreters for Simultaneous Interpreting

For simultaneous interpreting assignments lasting longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes, two interpreters are required to ensure quality and accuracy. Fees apply per interpreter, per hour.

7. Cancellations & Changes

• Cancellations or postponements made within of the scheduled assignment are billed at .

• If an event ends early, is canceled on-site, or the interpreter arrives and services are no longer needed, .

• Last-minute changes may result in additional charges.

 

8. Confidentiality

CHICLE interpreters adhere to professional standards of confidentiality. All client information shared during interpreting assignments is treated as confidential. CHICLE is not responsible for confidentiality breaches caused by third-party platforms, client systems, or external technical issues.

9. Limitation of Liability

CHICLE is not liable for decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from interpreted communication. Liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid for the specific interpreting service provided.
