Spanish Teachers' Immersion Summer Intensive Course

The objective of this course is to enhance participants’ knowledge and command of the Spanish language through a comprehensive review of grammar, video viewing for listening comprehension, brief readings of newspaper articles and short stories from renowned Latin American authors, writing exercises, oral discussion, and pronunciation. We also discuss issues that teachers face. Everything in Spanish of course! But don’t worry; we have a friendly environment and a non-threatening approach to teaching and our staff is made up of enthusiastic professional Spanish teachers. We know from experience that people learn more when programs are active and fun.

Class size: minimum 5 students, maximum 10
Cost: $500 for 30 hours, materials included

Please call us with a credit card number to register and hold your place. Your payment is due by June 1 for the June session, July 1 for the July session, and July 15 for the August session. Please send your $500 payment to CHICLE, 101 East Weaver St., 3rd Floor, Suite G-1, Carrboro, NC 27510. You may withdraw your application up to four weeks before the start of the course. If you withdraw after that time, there will be a $50 administrative fee charged to the card. We are happy to invoice your school if they are paying for you.

The CHICLE Language Institute is located in Carrboro, the town right next to Chapel Hill. We have beautiful offices over Weaver Street Market, a lively center of this university area. CHICLE has been teaching Spanish and other languages since 1999 and also provides other services such as translating, interpreting and cultural events.

We are a 20-minute walk from the main campus of UNC, and there is free public transportation throughout the town. Both Carrboro and Chapel Hill have many restaurants and entertainment venues.

CEU credits are available, and each student will receive a certificate indicating hours completed at the end of the course.
