 CHICLE has a strong Spanish program for children that has been going since 2001.
Many children have attended since the program began. The program teaches children
from ages 3-12. During the school year, we offer one-hour per week classes and during
the summer we have week-long morning summer camps. The program is interactive and
most of the materials have been designed by staff and teach the language while the
children are having fun.
The teacher speaks little English in class and the children learn quickly to
follow her Spanish instructions. We set up these classes so that children learn Spanish
while enjoying themselves, which they certainly seem to do! Classes incorporate music,
movement, vocabulary, and a variety of other learning activities.
Cost is $16 per class and students must sign-up for the whole month. We have a 8 student
maximum in each class.
We have had group classes in Portuguese and French for children.
Please contact us if you are interested in classes for children in any language. We often have a waiting list and can begin a class when we have four students signed up.
Children can always take privately or semi-privately.
Private classes are $40 an hour and semi-private are $30 per person per hour.
Older students who need extra help with their classwork take our regular private,
semi-private (2 students), or group (3 or more students) classes. If they are 16
or over, they may join the regular group classes.

Summer Spanish camp information is now available for 2010. This year we are also offering three afternoon sessions from 1:30-4:30 in other languages. We offer a French camp from June 21-25, Mandarin from July 12-16, and Portuguese from July 26-30.
