Our current and scheduled classes
Classes that we offer:

Group classes usually meet for eight weeks for one and a half·hours a week. The cost is $240 plus the cost of materials. Some courses use textbooks and others get handouts.CHICLE has been holding small classes in Mandarin for several years. Some students have taken privately as well. As with other courses, students will learn about the culture while studying the language. It is fascinating to listen to the students as they practice pronouncing the language's tones, like a somber concert. There is laughter as well.

Private instruction is scheduled at the student's convenience. Cost is $45/hour for one student, $35/hour/student for two students. When we have three or more students at the same level, we form a group class.

Conversation classes are $18 per hour.

At CHICLE we do screen our teachers carefully and think we have an excellent teaching staff. However, I don't think we've ever before received a comment as strong as this one about one of our Mandarin teachers.
I've probably studied with a dozen teachers in the five or so years I've been struggling sporadically to get more comfortable with Mandarin. Minmin is the best teacher I've ever worked with. She is quick, her methods are sound, she understands what I'm trying to do, and she couldn't be more responsive. I've been a teacher for a quarter of a century, but I don't think I ever learned to be as insightful and flexible as I perceive her to be. I'm looking forward to the next lesson and I'm motivated to do my homework!
