CHICLE has language placement tests for Spanish, English, French, and Italian. We use these to place students in an appropriate class level. If you are a beginner, don't take the placement.
But be honest. If you do know some language, do what you can. We don't want people to be bored by being in too low a level.
Please don't think of these as "tests"—don't look anything up and don't stuggle past the answers you know.
Almost noone gets everything right and almost everyone has some "holes" in their knowledge. If the question is not multiple choice but asks you to write something in the language of the placement, try to write full sentences. We can't tell much if you just answer in a word or two. After we look at your results, we'll talk to you about which level we recommend and which classes we are presently offering.
The placement is an online form. Fill out the answers and, when you are finished,
click on "Submit". We'll get back to you within 24 hours.
