CHICLE teaches many languages. When we opened in 1999, we only taught Spanish. Now the number of French students we have rivals Spanish. We also regularly teach classes in Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Karen, English, German, and organize other courses—Thai, Hindi, Russian, Farsi, and Vietnamese so far—upon demand.
 Our group classes in Spanish are regularly scheduled in four-week sessions. Unless you have never studied Spanish before, please take our online placement test to determine which level is appropriate for you.
We offer 7 different levels of Spanish, additional conversation and review classes, and writing and literature courses. All classes are conversation-based and include listening exercises. Classses are small, with from three to eight students per class.
16-hour Spanish classes, with materials included, are $305. Group classes meet for two hours twice a week, either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Morning classes are from 9 - 11 and evening classes from 6:30 - 8:30. Conversation, writing, and other advanced courses meet one time each week.

Classes in languages other than Spanish at CHICLE are regularly scheduled in four- or six-week sessions. We have placement tests in English, French and Italian that we ask you to take if you aren't a beginner.
We offer group classes that are grammar and conversational-based, additional conversation, writing, history, and literature courses. Classes are small, with from three to eight students per class.
Basic classes usually meet once a week for an hour and a half over a six week session, for a total of nine hours. We use a variety of published materials for these classes. Groups often continue to meet over multiple sessions, moving at a comfortable pace. Cost for a six week session is $170 plus the cost of materials.

We are happy to create a new class at any level in any of many languages. Because we are
small and flexible, we can be fairly responsive to requests. If you don't see a course listed
that you are interested in, please contact us. As we live in an area that is rich in diversity,
we can find teachers for a wide variety of languages. We can try to form a group class at
a time that is convenient to you. If you want to study a language, and we don't have enough
people to form a group or the scheduled time doesn't work for you, we offer private lessons.
Days and times for these are flexible and the cost is $40/hour.
