(2010/06/02) Kristi Webb - Spanish
Kristi Webb is another of our assiduous, multi-talented language students. She writes:
"I am a psychologist in private practice in Chapel Hill. I sing in the Chapel Hill Community Chorus and my group The Percolators performs at farmers’ markets and coffee shops, playing old-timey and gospel music. [Kristi is in the center of the photo.]
I love languages and they come easily to me. I learned French at an early age and have lived and studied in France. I am taking Spanish partly for fun, and partly because I believe it is welcoming and polite to be able to talk to the Spanish-speaking members of our community. I wanted to learn somewhere close to home, with small classes meeting more than once a week. CHICLE is perfecto!
I started at CHICLE this past Fall, in Nivel 2. Thanks to Ricardo Huaman, I completed Nivel 6 and am now in a weekly Charla (conversation group) with Perla. I find that daily practice is essential. I read People en Español, watche Univision while I work out, and converse in Spanish whenever possible.· I vow that I will conquer el pretérito."
