Our Prize Winning Comment

Increasing possibilities of communication in a smaller world is what CHICLE is all about.

Spanish

I am afraid that we are definitely leaving the US at the beginning of July so I will not be able to take any more classes. I am very sad not to be able to continue as I have enjoyed all the courses that I have done and found all the teachers excellent.

I had the opportunity to visit the Instituto Mexicano de la Audicion y el Lenguaje in Mexico City last month and spoke Spanish the whole time. It was a real breakthrough for me, thanks to my preparation at CHICLE!

I love that the materials are included with the class. They are very user-friendly.

Perla is probably the best language instructor that I’ve had. She is very patient with all of the students but at the same time, she doesn't let us get away with mispronunciations or incorrect grammar.

It’s a nice atmosphere, with motivated, adult students and the teacher is responsive to our specific motivations for learning.

Instruction was very personal, non-threatening, and fun. I neither found my mind wandering nor became totally lost. I really enjoyed Pilar as an instructor. It was obvious that our progress was important to her.

French

The French classes have been a joy to attend. Bernard is very knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. He creates an atmosphere that is fun, stimulating, comfortable, and open. I've also enjoyed meeting my fellow students who have been unfailingly friendly and kind. We learn a lot and work hard but love doing it and help each other out. I look forward to class every week. C'est magnifique!

Finally, a French class where I'm making noticeable progress. Bernard is a knowledgeable and talented teacher, and shares not only language skills but history of the language as well. What a joy!

The weekly conversation class has improved my French so much. And it is interesting, and fun! I learn a lot and enjoy myself. Formidable!

Advanced French conversation is a lively and amusing class for those who want to keep up with the language and have fun.

Even though I do a million things in a day I make it a priority to take classes from CHICLE. As an elementary school teacher, it helps me to continue to see through the eyes of a student and to have more understanding of how to better teach my students who are learning English as a new language.

Italian

I've enjoyed the Italian classes and will keep taking them. They made travel in Italy much more fun and interesting. I am more than glad to share my thoughts about the Italian program.

My Italian courses at CHICLE are the first language classes that I have taken since high school, and that's been 20 years ago. I have been very impressed with all the teachers that I've had in the two years since I've been taking the Italian classes. All of them have been very warm, friendly, encouraging and very patient. It's been great learning in such a supportive atmosphere.

Portuguese

I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to take Portuguese classes from CHICLE. Flavia has been an excellent teacher and helped me tailor my learning to my needs. There are very limited opportunities in the Triangle to learn Portuguese, even though Brazil is a huge emerging market in which my company does business. It has been a big help in my work to be able to communicate in Portuguese with customers, since so few Americans can do so. I recommend CHICLE highly.

Portuguese class helped me a lot to prepare for my trip to Brazil. It also helps me a lot as I try to master the language. My Portuguese would not be where it is today without classes at CHICLE.

Here is what I think about my Beginner 3 Portuguese class :) They say students learn more eagerly when they like the subject and have a quality teacher. This is definitely true about the Portuguese class. Flávia is a wonderful teacher. She is full of energy and her classes are never boring. Moreover, her classes offer a cultural experience and have expanded my knowledge about Brazil. We learn about the live, the country and the music. It's like visiting Brazil without leaving the classroom. And since I don't have much time to travel these days, I come to CHICLE and BAM...I am in Brazil. ;) Flávia not only teaches us the language but offers a great social interaction opportunity. In short, the class combines learning with cultural and social interaction. I can't wait to go to Brazil or Portugal and put my new knowledge to use. I actually already had a chance to use my Portuguese over a phone one day (and speaking on the phone is much harder) and I was amazed that I could have a simple conversation. That's all thanks to Chicle and Flávia's teaching!!!
